Fables and Short Stories

Lion and Deer

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, a lion and a deer lived in harmony. They were the best of friends and would often spend their days together. The lion would protect the deer from other predators, and the deer would help the lion hunt for food.

One day, while they were out hunting, the lion caught a deer. The deer pleaded with the lion to let him go, but the lion refused. The deer then asked the lion why he was doing this to his friend. The lion replied that he was hungry and needed to eat.

The deer then said that he would be happy to give his life for his friend, but he had one request. He asked the lion to promise that he would never hunt another deer again. The lion agreed, and they both went their separate ways.

Years passed, and the lion kept his promise. He never hunted another deer again. The deer grew old and eventually died of natural causes. The lion was heartbroken and missed his friend dearly.

From that day on, the lion became a vegetarian and lived out his days in peace. He knew that his friend had given his life for him, and he wanted to honor that sacrifice by living a life of compassion and kindness.

This fable teaches us that true friendship is about sacrifice and selflessness. It also reminds us that we should always keep our promises, no matter how difficult it may be.

The Lion and the Deer

Once upon a time, in a dense and tranquil forest, there lived a wise old lion named Leo. Leo was known for his strength and cunning, but he was also revered for his wisdom. He was a just and fair ruler of the animal kingdom, ensuring that all creatures in his domain lived in harmony.

One sunny morning, Leo was strolling through the forest when he came across a young deer named Daisy. Daisy was a graceful and gentle creature, known for her kind heart and compassion for all beings. Leo and Daisy had crossed paths many times, and they had developed a mutual respect for each other.

On this particular day, Daisy seemed troubled. Her eyes were filled with sadness, and her steps were heavy with sorrow. Leo, always the caring king, approached her and asked, "What ails you, dear Daisy? Why do you carry such a heavy heart?"

Daisy sighed and replied, "Oh, noble Leo, I have heard tales of the fierce lion that roams these woods. I fear for my life and the lives of my fellow deer. We are constantly on edge, knowing that at any moment, we may fall prey to your hunger."

Leo was taken aback by Daisy's words, for he had always tried to be fair and just. He realized that his reputation as a fearsome predator had caused undue fear among the other animals. With a heavy heart, he said, "Daisy, you have my word that no harm will come to you or your kin. I vow to protect all creatures in this forest, and I will ensure they live without fear."

Daisy, grateful for Leo's words, smiled and said, "Thank you, noble Leo. Your promise means the world to us. We shall trust in your wisdom and fairness."

From that day forward, Leo made a solemn promise to all the animals of the forest. He declared, "I, Leo the Lion, will protect and uphold the peace of this forest. I shall not harm any creature, and I will ensure that all living beings coexist in harmony."

Over time, the reputation of Leo began to change. The other animals realized that he was not just a fearsome predator but a wise and compassionate king. The once fearful deer roamed the forest without worry, and all the animals lived together in harmony and peace.

The fable of the Lion and the Deer teaches us that appearances can be deceiving, and true wisdom lies in the ability to understand and empathize with others. Leo's strength and Daisy's compassion, combined with trust and communication, transformed a forest of fear into a realm of harmony and unity, proving that even the most unlikely friendships can be formed in the name of peace and understanding.

Lion and Deer - 2

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a lion and a deer. The lion was the king of the forest and the deer was his loyal subject. The lion was very fond of the deer and would often go hunting with him.

One day, while they were out hunting, the lion suddenly turned on the deer and tried to kill him. The deer was shocked and asked the lion why he was doing this. The lion replied that he was hungry and needed to eat.

The deer pleaded with the lion to spare his life, promising that he would bring him food every day. The lion agreed to this and let the deer go.

From that day on, the deer would bring food to the lion every day. The lion was very pleased with this arrangement and they became good friends once again.

However, one day, while the deer was out looking for food, he overheard some other animals talking about how the lion was planning to kill him. The deer was very scared and didn’t know what to do.

He decided to run away from the forest and never come back. The lion was very sad when he found out that his friend had left him. He realized that he had made a big mistake by trying to kill the deer.

Moral of the story: It is important to be kind and loyal to your friends.

The Lion and the Deer's Quest

In a lush and bountiful forest, there was a powerful lion named Leonidas and a graceful deer named Delia. They were not just acquaintances but dear friends, united by their shared love for the beauty of the forest and its peaceful inhabitants.

One day, as Leonidas and Delia were taking a leisurely stroll through the forest, they stumbled upon a mysterious, radiant gem nestled within a bed of delicate flowers. The gem was unlike anything they had ever seen, its luminous colors shifting and dancing like the leaves in the wind. Delia, with her curious nature, picked up the gem and held it in her delicate hooves.

"Leonidas," she said, "this gem is unlike anything we've ever seen. It's too beautiful to keep to ourselves. I believe it could bring happiness and prosperity to all the creatures in our forest."

Leonidas, intrigued by Delia's idea, agreed. The two friends decided to embark on a journey to share the magical gem with the forest's residents. As they journeyed from one corner of the forest to another, they encountered various animals, each with their own unique needs and desires.

First, they met a group of wise owls who needed light to read and learn at night. Delia gently handed them the gem, and the owls were grateful for the newfound wisdom the gem provided.

Next, they encountered a family of squirrels who struggled to find enough food to survive the harsh winter. Leonidas roared, summoning his fellow lions, who, with their strength and hunting prowess, ensured that the squirrels had enough food to last through the cold season.

The gem continued to work its magic as Leonidas and Delia encountered animals with various needs. It brought warmth to the birds during freezing nights, helped the rabbits grow plentiful gardens, and even calmed the turbulent waters for the fish.

As the gem transformed the lives of the forest's creatures, it started to lose its radiant glow. Delia and Leonidas realized that its magic was finite. They had just enough power left to address one more challenge in the forest.

They soon came across a group of quarrelsome beavers who were in constant conflict over the best locations for their dams. Leonidas and Delia knew they had to use the gem wisely. Delia stepped forward, addressing the beavers. She explained how the gem's magic had brought harmony and prosperity to the forest and implored the beavers to find a way to share the resources of the riverbanks.

The beavers, moved by her words and the success of the gem in other parts of the forest, agreed to cooperate. They built their dams together, ensuring a steady flow of water for all the creatures in the forest.

With their mission accomplished, Leonidas and Delia returned the now-dimmed gem to its resting place among the flowers. The forest was forever changed. The animals, once divided by their differences, now lived in harmony, appreciating the importance of working together.

Leonidas and Delia, true friends, had shown the forest that it was not magic that brought prosperity but the willingness to share, help, and understand one another. Their journey had taught the importance of unity and compassion, and their friendship remained a shining example to all the creatures of the forest.

Dua for Ramadan

First Ashra (from 1st Ramadan to 10th of Ramadan)

The first ten days of Ramadhan are the days of Rahamath. Recites these Duas taught by our Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) to make sure that we receive Allah’s infinite mercy and love:

اللهمً اِرحمنا برحمتِكِ يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِِمِين
(Allahumma arhamnaa birahmathika ya arhama rahimaeen)
Oh Allah, Have mercy on us Oh the Most Merciful.

Yaa Hayy Yaa Qayyoom birahmatika astagheeth
Oh You Who is Everliving and Sustains and Protects everything, I seek assistance through the means of Your mercy.

Rabbana rabbir hamhuma kama rabbayani saghira My Lord! bestow on them (parents) thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.

Allahumma inni astaghfiruka li dhanbi wa as'aluka rahmatak
O Allah! I ask You for Forgiveness for my sins, and for Your Mercy.

Rabbana amannaa faghfir lana warhamna wa anta khayrur Rahimeen Our Lord! We believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy

Second Ashra (from 11th Ramadan to 20th Ramadan)

The second ten days of Ramadhan is the time when Allah opens the doors of forgiveness on us more than anytime of the year, so seek forgiveness from Allah with these Duas:

الَّلهمً اغْفِرلَنا ذُنوبَنا وَ خَطَايانا كُلَّهَا يَا رَبَّ العَالمين

Allahumma agh’firlana wa khathaayana kullaha ya rabbal aalameen
Oh Allah, forgive all of our sins and mistakes Oh Lord of the Worlds.

'Allaahmma anta rabbee laa ilaaha illaa Anta khalaqtanee wa ana 'abduka wa ana 'alaa 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata't A'oothu bika min sharri ma sana't Aboo'u laka bi ni'matika alayya wa aboo'u laka bi zhanbee Faghfir lee Fa innahoo laa yaghfiruth-thunooba illaa ant.'
O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no God besides You. You created me and I am Your servant, following Your covenant and [my] promise to You as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil that I have done. Before You I acknowledge Your blessings bestowed upon me and I confess my sins to You. So forgive me, for surely no one can forgive sins except You.

Rabbana Dhalamna anfusina wa il lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lana kuna minal-khasireen
Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost.

Rabbanaghfir li wa li wallidayya wa lil Mu'mineena yawma yaqumul hisaab
O our Lord! Cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!

Ya Wasi 'al fadhli ighfirli
Oh the One who is great in Bounties, Forgive me.

Allahuma maghfiratoka awsaa’ min zhunoobi Wa rahmatoka arja ‘indey min ‘amalee
Oh Allah, Your forgiveness is greater than my sins and my hope in Your mercy is greater to me than my actions.

Third Ashra (from 21st Ramadan to end of Ramadan)

The last 10 days of Ramadhan is for emancipation from the fire of Jahannam. Recite these Duas to ask Allah for protection against the hellfire:

Oh Allah, protect us from the Hellfire and enter us into Paradise, Oh Lord of the worlds.

Ashhadu allailaha illallah asthagfirullah as-alukal jannatha wa audhubka minannaar (3times)

I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, O Allah forgive me, give me Paradise, protect me from Hell Fire

There's a famous Hadith in which 4 things to be done in great abundance in Ramadhan, "two which please Allah and two which you cannot do without"

Two which please Allah: 1. Read Kalimah Tayyibah in abundance 2. Seek forgiveness from Allah

Two which you can't do without: 3. Ask Allah for entry into Jannah 4. Seek protection from the fire of Jahannam

May Allah grant us the Thowfeeq to do all these A’maals in the blessed month of Ramadhan, In Sha Allah. And if you do remember, please make Dua for the whole of the Ummah and I humbly ask you to make Dua for me and my family too.
